New bank opens in Westminster

WESTMINSTER - A new bank with national and local ties has opened in Westminster.
Mountain View Bank of Commerce opened Feb. 8 at 12365 Huron St. It is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
President and Chief Executive Officer Andy Ellison said the bank focuses on providing personalized banking services, business loans and commercial real estate loans and small- and medium-sized business owners.
The bank raised $8 million in capital through 154 investors.
Lansing, Mich.-based Capitol Bancorp Ltd. (NYSE:CBC) is the bank's major investor. It also provides background support, such as human resources, legal and accounting services. Capitol also invests in and supports Fort Collins Commerce Bank.
Ellison said each bank is a separate charter, and there are many local investors.
Ellison is a graduate of the University of Colorado in Boulder, and he earned his master's of business administration from Thunderbird, The American Graduate School of International Management.
Serving with Ellison on the bank's board of directors are Ken Heuer of Boulder-based Brock and Company CPAs PC, Michelle Welsh of American Family Insurance in Boulder, Gerard Nalezny of Fort Collins Commerce Bank, Ron Faillaci, local entrepreneur and Tyr R. Peterson, a dentist in Arvada.
Joining Ellison on the bank's management team are Thomas Courson, chief credit officer; Stephen Faillaci, vice president of commercial lending; Jennifer Maes, operations manager; Lauren Bowserew, account representative; Leslie Spence, residential mortgage lender; Steve Luttmann, investment executive; Tammy Drennen, commercial loan assistant.
