Mountain View Bank of Commerce Acquired by Local Colorado Investor Group

DENVER, CO: Dec. 16, 2009: A local Colorado investor group, led by Stephanie Bluher, announced today that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Mountain View Bank of Commerce, a $46.2 million affiliate of Capitol Bancorp, Ltd. in an all cash transaction.

“We are pleased to have the opportunity to acquire such a strong and well capitalized bank with solid leadership in the metro Denver market,” said Bluher. Andy Ellison, who serves as President and CEO of Mountain View Bank of Commerce, will continue in this role under the new ownership. “We’re looking forward to growing in the community and are pleased that Andy will be leading that effort,” commented Bluher.

The transaction which is subject to regulatory approval is expected to be completed sometime in 2010.
